Palmetto is a beautiful city with a rich history.  Palmetto Historical Park seeks to preserve that history for future generations. The lovely park in downtown Palmetto is the site of Palmetto’s first Post Office, a classic Carnegie Library, the Manatee County Agricultural Hall of Fame and a wedding chapel. Several public parks with athletic and picnicking facilities are available. Palmetto is just a few miles away from the beautiful Gulf of Mexico and Manatee County’s inviting public beaches. It goes without saying that Palmetto anglers find happy fishing grounds in the Manatee River, the Gulf of Mexico and the numerous bays in the area.
